Hello Hello Hivians
I try to participate in the Wednesday Walk challenge most weeks. Today is no exception, although we are back to last Saturday for this walk.
The weather ... typically Scottish summer weather, rain, grey cloud, blue sky and white cloud with any permutation possible!
As the title says we are strolling along the beach at Kirkcaldy Promenade
That in itself is quite unusual.
Low tide
When the tide is in it comes right up to the sea wall and over the rocks on the right of the picture!
Derelict carparks
Kirkcaldy is called the Lang Toun or long town as it has one heck of a long shape to it and promenade.
The concrete monsters you see are derelict and we have won some government funding. Allegedly things will be regenerated!
But low tide means we can walk on the sand as opposed to te Promenade itself.
This is not my regular beach so it is treat. We can though walk along to Seafield beach from here which is my regualar beach and is indeed what we did! More of that next week...
Mini sand bars. The difference on this mass of sand is the ridges or bars which we often don't get on other parts of the coast.
You have to watch your walking style so you don't absent mindedly trip when you are looking for things!
Of course the seagulls have no problems like that.
The float, fly or whatever the fluff they want to do!
Do you recognise this?
Jelly fish!
Turned out there was loads of them.
I later was on a couple of our town facebook groups and people were posting pictures of thousands of them in the water.
Some of them have the pretty pink rings!
Blue aqua shoes and white legs!
So when I know the weather is warm and we are going looking for things on the beach I will don my aqua shoes and go paddling!
Blinded by the light and fluff yes, sunglasses were worn 🤣
Mrs T was hollering from a few yards away so I paddled to see what it was!
A Scottish jellyfish with the St Andrews cross on it!
Do you see it?
I tried to zoom in and get a good picture when ...
... it had fluffing vanished!
However patience is a virtue!
I found it after a couple of minutes scouring the water!
More of Mrs T's hollerings!
"Ed Ed look what I have fluffing found!!!" exclaimed a very excited Mrs T!
Can you guess what it is ?
Cheers everyone!
I hope you enjoyed our little adventure!
I have to love you and leave you as I need to get my arse to the hospital pdq for the second of my shingles vaccinations!
This post is for #wednesdaywalk which was inspired by
Thanks for visiting and I hope you managed to get out for a walk this week.
All images and ramblings are from me, the mad Scotsman TengoLoTodo unless otherwise stated. Note images are all snapped by me with my Google Pixel 9 XL Pro smartphone on Saturday June 21st 2025 and some were used in canva to make the lead image.
DO WHAT YOU LOVE AND DO IT OFTEN
Haste Ye Back!
