Hello Hive
There are two options you can choose when reaching the entrance gate. You can either park there, but the parking is quite costly, 3 euros for one hour. We recommend the second option, which is to park a little further away in Tolmin in a free parking place. From there you can take a 10-minute walk or go by free bus. As well, we realized that in the morning time there is lots of people visiting, but in the afternoon you will be more alone and in peace.
As we were very hungry, we ate our pizza snacks much before planned. Before entering, we needed to pay 8 euros for one person. The price varies depending on the three seasons. In the winter, you can enter for free.
What do you guys think, should the nature sights be always free to visit, or should it be paid like in this case?
Right after entering you already see amazing turquoise river Tolminka. It looks very much like a fairy tale wonderland.
You have lots to see here, as nature created lots of magical stuff here. For example the river's confluence, the Devil's bridge, thermal spring, the river's gorge, the natural bridge called Bear head and Dante's cave.
The cave was created by glacier to relieve the water, and it has in total more than 1100 meters of tunnels, which are 41 meters deep. Cave was supposed to be inspiration for the Italian writer Dante Alighieri's book The Divine Comedy. From there, it's name also derives.
First we visited the gorge and thermal spring. There, the water always has between 18 and 20 °C. It was magical to see the texture on the stones water creates.
We decided to take a break at two river's confluences. We drank some hit tea. It was amazing to see, specially as the two rivers differ in water color. Steffen needed to do some meditation to relax after losing the drone. Luckily, the footage was saved from the phone.
After hiking up the mountain, passing lots of clogs, we reached the natural bridge Bear head. It's one big stone stuck between two walls. It's fully covered in moose, you can also spot some micro trees growing. In the background, the river divides into many small waterfalls.
After escaping the large tourist group, we hiked up to the cave. From there we crossed the Devil's bridge. It offers you cool view on the whole scenery.
That was our day. We spent quite some time exploring all the beautiful places. In the evening, we were honestly quite exhausted by all the climbing, but at the same time excited to see all the footage from the day.
Already looking forward to our next adventure!
