Hello my friend, how are you today? Is your work busy or not? I hope you all have a nice day with the best. Today I have a trip to visit the house of an old acquaintance of my grandfather in a far away. In this article of mine, I will tell you about what happened on my trip with my brother. Especially the story about the hundred-year-old tree.
On my way
On my wayMy grandfather's friend's house is located in another commune and it took us about 30 minutes to get there. I went here once when I was 5 years old with my grandpa, and this time is my 2nd time going. I just followed my memory of the way, but fortunately, the way is much easier now. I remember the old days when I went with my grandfather, we had to walk across a stream where there wasn't any bridge, and now that stream has been turned into a small dam and has a bridge over it. Passing by, I thought I was lost when I reached this part of the road.
You can see the scenery here looks natural and wild. Rivers are covered with green trees. This dam will have a lot of people coming here to fish in the afternoon. They fish not only to get fish, but they also use this fishing as a way to relax their mind after a hard-working day.
I don't remember exactly how this dam used to be, but now it contains a large amount of water and the road we are on is much higher than the dam, so this road can be considered as a water barrier for people here.
There are still tall bamboo hills here.
In the past, our hometown had many species of this tree, even it was the main material for our ancestors to build houses, but in our time, bamboo has been replaced by iron and steel. A bamboo grove is now a resting place for buffaloes.
amused buffalo munching grass from their rumen.
Through the bamboo groves to the new bridge
When I was a child, I passed without any bridge, so I called it the new bridge. the bridge is small, short, and quite narrow. A special feature is that there is a bridge, but if it rains heavily, water can overflow over this bridge. Looking at the places where the water ran through the white, splashing, I thought it was a small waterfall.
The water flows smoothly.
We stopped for a while here to enjoy the view of the sky and water and then we continued on to the next place
My next place is hundred-year-old driftwood.
The old tree
The old treeThe tree has a height of about 25m, the canopy is about 30m wide, the diameter of the root including the roots is about 3m, the inner diameter of the root excluding the roots is about 2m.
the legend of a tree more than a hundred years old.
No one knows how long this tree has existed, since the time of the fierce war, the tree has fought with the people against the enemy, and until now the tree is still green, rising to the blue sky with the people here.
For generations, the people of Vinh Thang village, Huong Vinh commune, Huong Khe district has considered this ancient driftwood a treasure, a symbol, and the pride of the whole village. I heard my grandfather tell me that this driftwood is a species of tree belonging to the family of scissors, mango. In particular, this driftwood blooms quite unusually, only one side each year.
Driftwood is known locally as yin - yang tree, with spiritual conceptions. Not only that, but the driftwood is also a place to save memories of the old commando capture of the people of Vinh Thang village. Therefore, this driftwood has become the pride of every local resident. Under the canopy of driftwood, people are always happy, gathering, sharing the joys and sorrows of life. This is also a community space that is kept by the people and the government as a way to preserve the country's soul in the process of building a new countryside.
I have seen such a big tree for the first time, I have read in books about the largest baobab trees in the world, but this is the first time I have seen and touched such a large tree with my own eyes. At first, I was afraid because I thought this tree was old, so could it be a ghost tree? but because it is beautiful and seems very gentle, I managed to take a few pictures with this old tree. My trip today is interesting. I was able to go back to my 5-year-old memories and the stories my grandfather told me. I hope this old tree will live forever with the villagers here, and gradually it will be included in the list of the oldest trees in the world.
I hope you guys enjoy what I share and I'm also happy to hear what you guys share.
Thank you for your support and wish you a happy and energetic new day.
