It's wonderful when neighbors look out for each other and take care of one another. When I first moved here, Mr. Shep came to say if I need help or anything, just let them know. Mr. and Mrs. are a kind and loving couple living with their 6-year-old dog, Roy. Roy is a rescued dog and joined their family recently after losing a life-long friend of a dog last year. Roy is an important part of the family. Unfortunately,he has recently been barking at night and this has caused some distress to them. We think he lacks socializing and outdoor walking as both Mr. and Mrs. are too old to walk him. So we offer to help by walking Roy whenever we have time.
Of course, we walked Roy and Jet together, but how to get them to get along is another issue. Roy is a small, chihuahua dog who loves nothing more than to bark at the bigger dog, like Jet lol. Roy is literally charging to bite Jet and eat her. We guest he may suffer from anxiety. On the other hand, Jet- luckily, is such a good and patient girl. Jet is a female Rotti that my partner adopted when she was just months old. It took him years to train her and the effort paid off. She's been a good girl, well-behaved and loveable. She has been like a daughter to me, well I love her dearly and can't help but feel an immense amount of joy whenever I'm around her. And Roy is a little, adorable white dog that caught my attention. I’d like to take him home and make him a part of our family as “my adopted son" haha :)
The first walk was quite an adventure, to say the least, lol. Keeping the two of them separated while they got used to each other's presence was a priority. We had to keep the distance between them until Roy settled down and enjoyed the walk. Eventually, after some time, we were finally able to have them walking side by side in harmony even Roy just wanted to sit down for a rest every time we walked under the shades. It became obviously Roy hasn't done much exercise and was out of shape, lol. :)
Roy is only little but he thinks he is big, lol. For us, walking Roy is just a little thing but for Mr. and Mrs. Shep is a big thing. Sometimes the little thing in life has a bigger impact than we know :)
Thanks for reading and have a great weekend :)
