Hello dear friends and walkers. Today I take you on a time machine into the past. Serbia is a very old country and is full of historical monuments, fortresses, monasteries. My city Vrsac is one of the oldest cities in the province of Vojvodina in Serbia. Today I take you to the Mesic Monastery, which is one of the oldest monasteries in Vojvodina. I will tell you the legend of the monastery and show you amazing pictures from the monastery that has not changed for 1000 years.
Nastanak "Legenda"
Legenda o nastanku ide ovako.
The emergence of "Legend"
The legend of its origin goes like this. Wandering and looking for a better life, an old man with three sons comes to this area. Seeing the beauty, forests, rivers, wildlife, fertile land, the old man decided to settle here. He gave his sons a bow and an arrow, and whoever shoots an arrow should build something and live. The first son fired an arrow at the top of the hill and said there would be a fortress or tower, the second below the hill fired an arrow and said: there will be a city, the third fired an arrow and fell behind the hill, there will be a monastery, said the third son. In order to unite the sons, the old man planted a vineyard, from the monastery to the city and the tower on the hill.
Nastanak: " Sta kaze istorija".
Pravo vreme nastanka manastira Mesic niko nezna.
Origin: "What history says".
Nobody knows the exact time of the establishment of the Mesic Monastery. Some say it was raised by a disciple of St. Sava, the first Serbian archbishop, Arsenija Bogdanovic. Then the disciples of Saints Cyril and Methodius, then the last medieval dynasty Brankovic, Dejan and his mother Angelina, whose hand is in the monastery. In any case, the monastery was being renovated and the exact time of its creation is unknown.
