Today I want to tell you about the hike we did with friends, to a rock formation called Halkata.
The interesting rock phenomenon is located in the Stara Planina Mountain, in the Sinite Kamani Nature Park, and is one of the symbols of the city of Sliven.
Our hike is a continuation of the climb to Golyama Chatalka Peak, from where we took a trail that would lead us to Halkata.
We walked through the beautiful forest and enjoyed the charming trees, mosses, and spring flowers.
At times we came out of the forest and passed through rocky sections, and the views that opened before us were magnetic.
The weather was constantly changing - sometimes it rained, then the sun shone and it became very warm.
We cross streams and rivers.
We cross wooden bridges.
There was a bit of a climb to get to Halkata.
We reached the place and it was really interesting.
The back side.
The height of Halkata is about 8 meters and a person can easily pass through its opening. Many legends are associated with it, stating that it possesses magical powers that grant health, life and success in love.
An old legend says that in prehistoric times this place was a sheltered harbor in a stormy sea and ships were tied to the rock with a hole. The ring was a salvation and hope that they would not sink. The ring is attributed with magical power to bestow health and life. Legend has it that the forbidden love of a girl and a boy became possible when the two held hands and simultaneously passed through the hole of the ring.

My friends and I had a rest here and of course a lot of pictures.
After that we decided not to return by the same route, but to make a roundabout way to get to the car. So we continued along the marked path.
Beautiful views, magnificent waterfalls, wooden bridges followed again.
We were about to see another rock phenomenon called the Second Halka.
It was also very beautiful there.
Then we continued climbing. New beautiful views and uniquely clean air followed.
We reached the Karandila hut, which unfortunately looked in a desperate state.
From there we headed to the upper lift station where our car was parked.
Our hike was not only very beautiful but also very challenging with the weather changing many times, but every step taken in the mountain was worth it.
Thank you for stopping by!
