Hello everyone, I hope you are well and enjoying your walks. For the last few days the weather here in Cuba has been extremely hot and we limit ourselves a bit to go out of the house to protect ourselves from the sun and the heat, but work does not wait and we have to learn to live with this heat. Today I will share with you a little walk that my husband and I took, since we coincided in the afternoon after work and went home together.
Hola a todos, espero que estén bien y disfrutando de sus paseos. Por estos últimos días el clima aquí en Cuba ha sido extremadamente caluroso y nos limitamos un poco a salir de la casa para protegernos del sol y el calor, pero el trabajo no espera y hay que aprender a convivir con este calor. Hoy les compartiré un pequeño paseo que hicimos mi esposo y yo, ya que coincidimos en la tarde luego del trabajo y nos fuimos juntos a casa.
I almost never coincide with my husband, since my schedule is more flexible and I almost never have to work in the afternoons. But yesterday when I left a meeting at about 4:30 in the afternoon, I asked my husband to wait for me and we met next to his work, at Parque del Bosque, which is located in the center of the city on the main street.
Despite the intense sun, there was a nice breeze at that moment. Actually, I think sunny days make the green color of the trees look nicer and it contrasts great with the blue of the sky.
Normalmente no coincido nunca con mi esposo, ya que mis horarios son más flexibles y casi nunca tengo que trabajar en las tardes. Pero ayer al salir de una reunión como a las 4:30 de la tarde, le pedí a mi esposo que me esperara y nos encontramos al lado de su trabajo, en el Parque del Bosque, que está ubicado en el centro de la ciudad en la calle principal.
A pesar del intenso sol, en ese momento había una brisa agradable. La verdad, creo que los días soleados hacen que el color verde de los árboles se ves más lindo y contrasta genial con el azul del cielo.

We were already on our way home when my husband suggested me to stop by an ice cream shop that is quite close, and I thought the idea was great, because who would say no to a cold ice cream in this weather 😅😋.
We arrived at the Coppelia Ice Cream Parlor and to our surprise there wasn't much of a line to get in. Once inside they served us the ice cream which was soursop flavor and it was delicious. It was white like vanilla ice cream but with a characteristic flavor that I could not explain, but quite good.
Ya nos dirigíamos a casa cuando mi esposo me sugirió pasarnos por una heladería que está bastante cerca, y la idea me pareció genial, pues, ¿quién diría que no a un helado frío e este clima? 😅😋.
Llegamos a la Heladería Coppelia y para nuestra sorpresa no había mucha cola para entrar. Una vez dentro nos sirvieron el helado que era de sabor guanábana y estaba delicioso. Era blanco como el helado de vainilla pero con un sabor característico que no sabría explicar, pero bastante bueno.
On the way back home we enjoyed the scenery of the city, which as I always say, I love my city of Pinar del Rio and more when it is a little empty, because it was already about 5:30 and there were not many people on the street. I definitely had to open my umbrella, because even at that time of the afternoon the sun was shining brightly.
En el camino de regreso a casa disfrutamos del paisaje de la ciudad, que como siempre digo, me encanta mi ciudad de Pinar del Río y más cuando está un poco vacía, pues ya eran como las 5:30 y no había mucha gente en la calle. Definitivamente tuve que abrir mi sombrilla, pues aún a esa hora de la tarde el sol estaba brillando bien fuerte.

I like to see how the trees in the city have blossomed with beautiful colors. The most distinctive for me are the one in Independence Park, with that strong yellow color, and further on, on Alameda Street, some very pretty violet flowering trees.
Me gusta ver cómo han florecido los árboles de la ciudad con colores muy bonitos. Los más distintivos para mí son el del parque de la independencia, con ese color amarillo fuerte y más adelante, en la calle Alameda, unos árboles de flores violetas muy lindos.

Walking through my city for me means walking through my memories. What you see behind me in this last photo was my kindergarten, where I made my first friendships and have my first childhood memories.
Caminar por mi ciudad para mí significa caminar por mis recuerdos. Lo que ven atrás de mi en esta última foto fue mi Círculo Infantil, en el cuál hice mis primeras amistades y tengo mis primeros recuerdos de la niñez.
