These last few days I have been away on business in West Palm Beach, Florida. I do not get to travel that much and I was concerned that I'd be stuck in a hotel for the vast majority of this trip. Honestly, I wasn't wrong, but I did get the opportunity to get out in the sunshine one lunch time, and also got to walk around a bit before and after dinner.
West Palm Beach is right on the ocean, and I was lucky enough to get to walk along the waterfront. On a nice day. With no clouds. In January. I suspect that standing in that same very spot in July. might be unbearable, but right now it was incredible.
Fun fact: Much of the beachfront in West Palm Beach is private property, owned by people in huge McMansions that don't even live there. I guess they just like to own the property so others can't have it. There are security guards patrolling the beach and chasing people Who Don't Belong away. We did find one small patch of beach between two walls that was 'public'. I think it could fit one person at a time.
I don't really have a whole lot to say other than I got to walk. I didn't do anything other than walk, and it was a lot of the same after awhile. But it was great weather!
There were a couple of piers that were available to walk on. There were more that were private with Fences and Guards.
Of course, it wouldn't be a walk - for me - without discovering some of the native wildlife fire hydrants. I am 100% positive that they were painted these colours just to make them look Important.
There was even a fire hydrant on the pier, of course, so the fire-on-water could be put out with more water.
And some random shots of things I thought looked neat.
Thank you to for implementing #wednesdaywalk for all of us to enjoy!
