Let's walk from Zug to Lech
Hii Hive, Today I wanna share some shots made in the Austrian villages called Lech and Zug, the place where I live part-time since my boyfriend is working here as chef in the kitchen of a hotel.
Some people might already know that I have also stayed here quite some time in the snowy winter, but now Zug turned from a wintersport heaven to a sunny and green walking paradise!
The walk from Zug to Lech is known to be the walk along the river. It is just 3,2 kilometers, which is just a little over 30 minutes walk. You don't encounter steep mountains so it is a really chilled walk, which is also enjoyable on a hot day like today.
During the walk you have a nice view of the mountains. All the snow is gone so the white bright mountains are now green and alive, with birds chirping on the trees and if you pay attention, you might notice that the squirrels have wakend from their sleep
If I like Austria better in summer or winter? Well, it's both very different. I prefer the winter activities like sliding and snowboarding over hiking, but I love the atmosphere with birds and colorful flowers in summer. Although winter still wins.
Happy walk, happy girlfriend! My boyfriend is slowly turning into a great photographer as you can see :)
This is Lech, our final destination. Lech is the ''Main town'' around since it has a supermarket and Zug doesn't have any store. You see the hill behind the village? That is the place all the lifts go up in winter, and you can see people ski down all day.
The streets in Lech are quiet with barely any traffic. It is a very peaceful town in summertime, with only some hikers passing by like ourselves. In winter, it is much busier as Lech is mainly a winter destination great for its plenty of snowfall and great skiing slopes and fun places to enjoy sliding. It is also the most famous skiing destination in all of Europe and even the Dutch royal family goes here every winter for a skiing holiday.
Most houses in the Austrian village are white with wooden accents.
I truly love the wood accents in the Austrian architecture, look at this door for example! Looks good right?!
One of our favorite activities here is just drinking coffee outside. Samuels room is underground with barely daylight, so being outside is a real treat. Samuel works 60 hours, he is often not in the mood for a walk, then, having a coffee is great!
So, what else is on the planning for this visit to Austria? Well, Austria is a true hiking paradise with several beautiful lakes and mountain trails. if you follow my page, I will show you one of the most beautiful lakes in the area, hidden between the mountains, surrounded by plenty of beautiful flowers.
Thanks for passing by!
Regards,
Sascha
