Cómo moverte fácil por la isla con Turismar 🚌 [Esp/Eng]

Espero se encuentren súper bien. Este fin de semana iba a visitar a un familiar que vive muy lejos de mí, y es realmente difícil trasladarse sin carro propio, porque hay que atravesar media isla en transporte público. Para quienes no viven acá, deben saber que los autobuses son todo un tema, sobre todo si vives lejos del centro como yo. Suelen tardar casi una hora en llegar a Porlamar, donde se toman los otros autobuses hacia los distintos lugares de la isla.

Por suerte, hace algunos años crearon una empresa de transporte que, aunque está en el mismo terminal que los demás autobuses, funciona de una forma diferente. Tienen rutas desde Juan Griego hasta Pampatar, pasando por La Asunción o Taguantar. Son trayectos largos, pero cubren zonas donde los autobuses regulares no pasan y puedes llegar al otro lado de la isla en uno solo, lo cual es una gran ventaja.

This weekend I was going to visit a relative who lives far away from me, and it's really difficult to get there without a car, because you have to cross half the island by public transport. For those who don't live here, you should know that buses are a big deal, especially if you live far from the center like I do. It usually takes almost an hour to get to Porlamar, where you can take other buses to different parts of the island.

Luckily, a few years ago, a transportation company was created that, although it is in the same terminal as the other buses, operates differently. They have routes from Juan Griego to Pampatar, passing through La Asunción or Taguantar. They are long journeys, but they cover areas where regular buses do not go, and you can get to the other side of the island in one go, which is a big advantage.

Si aún no han usado este servicio, se llama Turismar, y justo ese día que salí, estaban de aniversario. Cumplían 3 años de haberse consolidado como empresa de transporte terrestre en la isla. Fue una linda sorpresa: su oficina en el terminal de Juan Griego estaba decorada con globos, música, café gratis y, además, todos los viajes eran gratuitos ese día, un regalo para los usuarios que siempre eligen su servicio.

Por si tienen curiosidad, les cuento lo que he notado: el pasaje es un poco más costoso que el de los autobuses normales, pero vale la pena por todo el recorrido. El precio varía según la distancia, pero si llegas hasta las rutas más lejanas, por ahora sigue siendo 80 bs.

It was a nice surprise: their office at the Juan Griego terminal was decorated with balloons, music, free coffee, and, in addition, all trips were free that day, a gift for users who always choose their service.

In case you're curious, here's what I've noticed: the fare is a little more expensive than regular buses, but it's worth it for the whole trip. The price varies depending on the distance, but if you go to the farthest routes, it's still 80 bolivars for now.

También tienen horarios definidos y los cumplen. Sale un autobús cada 30 minutos en la mañana, y todo el cronograma es público gracias a grupos de WhatsApp donde informan cuándo sale o llega cada unidad, y hacen actualizaciones mientras van en la vía.

Este servicio realmente no da excusa para no visitar los lugares turísticos de la isla, como los centros comerciales. Es una excelente opción para los habitantes y visitantes.
