Con Vicky en su misa de acción de gracias en El Valle/With Vicky at her thanksgiving mass at "El Valle" 🎓👩‍🎓

Ayer fue un día bastante especial, ya estuve junto con mi familia en el Valle, Municipio García, gracias a la invitación que nos hiciera mi primita Hive account@vk2773 para que la acompañasemos en la misa de acción de gracias por su próxima graduación como Licenciada en Idiomas Modernos, y a un acto bastante particular llamado "la corredera", que se estaría realizando en la mañana de ayer específicamente en la "Basílica Menor nuestra señora del Valle", y ya que no pudimos acompañarla a la firma del libro días atrás, a esta actividad sí o sí la teníamos que acompañar, y de paso aprovechar la oportunidad para que mis hijos conocieran el lugar, y por supuesto tomar muchas fotitos.

Yesterday was a very special day. I was with my family in Valle, Municipality of García, thanks to the invitation from my little cousin Hive account@vk2773
to accompany her to a thanksgiving mass for her upcoming graduation with a degree in Modern Languages, and to a rather unique event called "la corredera", which took place yesterday morning at the "Basílica Menor Nuestra Señora del Valle". and since we couldn't accompany her to the book signing a few days ago, we had to accompany her to this event, and take the opportunity for my children to get to know the place, and of course take lots of photos.

La población de El Valle es uno de los lugares más emblemáticos de nuestro estado, precisamente porque en él se encuentra la Basílica de nuestra señora de el Valle, patrona de oriente y de los pescadores, por lo que es un lugar con muchísimo movimiento, ya que los feligreses católicos acuden a visitar la Basílica, especialmente los fines de semana, pero también en El Valle, muy cerquita de la Basílica se encuentra la universidad de la que está egresando mi prima Victoria, así que por supuesto la misa de acción de gracias sería en la Basílica.

Y antes de continuar vamos a ponerlos en contexto, Vicky es hija de mi prima Maribel, sobrina de mi mamá, así que es la segunda generación de primitas, en la que están incluidas Hive account@emilypino y Hive account@soyros, ya que son hijas de mis prim@s, de los que como pueden ver soy una de las menores, por eso es que mis hijos no son contemporáneos con ninguna de ellas, de hecho tienen una diferencia de hasta 10 años entre ellos, pero como dicen por ahí "familia es familia", aunque no nos veamos con mucha frecuencia.

En fin, retomando el tema, Vicky nos había invitado tanto para la firma del libro que fue el día 13, como para la misa de acción de gracias, pero lamentablemente no pudimos asistir a la firma del libro, por lo que nos organizamos para acompañarla ayer y desde muy temprano estuvimos en comunicación para poder ubicarla allá, ya que el acto sería en un espacio abierto y por supuesto habría muchísima gente por todos lados.

The town of El Valle is one of the most emblematic places in our state, precisely because it is home to the Basilica of Our Lady of El Valle, patron saint of the east and of fishermen. It is therefore a very busy place, as Catholic parishioners come to visit the Basilica, especially on weekends. But also, in El Valle, very close to the Basilica, is the university where my cousin Victoria is graduating, so of course the thanksgiving mass would be at the Basilica.

Before continuing, let's put this into context. Vicky is the daughter of my cousin Maribel, my mother's niece, so she is part of the second generation of cousins, which includes Hive account@emilypino and Hive account@soyros, as they are the daughters of my cousins. As you can see, I am one of the youngest, which is why my children are not the same age as any of them. In fact, there is a difference of up to 10 years between them, but as they say, "family is family," even if we don't see each other very often.

Anyway, getting back to the topic, Vicky had invited us both to the book signing on the 13th and to the thanksgiving mass, but unfortunately we couldn't attend the book signing, so we made plans to accompany her yesterday and we were in contact with her from very early on to be able to find her there, since the event would be in an open space and of course there would be a lot of people everywhere.

Lamentablemente no llegamos tan temprano como hubiese deseado, porque tuvimos que hacer algunas cosas antes de salir y cuando llegamos la misa estaba casi por terminar, y al finalizar aquello fue la locura, gente por todos lados tomando fotos, saludando a sus familiares y amigos, y en nuestro caso tratando se ubicar a Vicky 🤣

En medio de esa búsqueda me encontré con Hive account@emilypino, algo tipo flash porque cada quien estaba buscando a alguien, y luego de dar muchas vueltas finalmente nos encontramos con Víctor, el papá de Victoria, a quien tenía años que no veía, pero como les digo, familia es familia, y a pesar del tiempo sin vernos, nos abrazamos, y de inmediato la conversadera para ponernos un poco al día, y por supuesto aproveché de renovar algunas fotitos con mis hijos quienes ya no recordaban a Víctor, porque en serio tenían sin verlo más de 11 años.

Unfortunately, we didn't arrive as early as I would have liked, because we had to do a few things before leaving, and when we arrived, the mass was almost over. When it ended, it was madness, with people everywhere taking photos, greeting their family and friends, and in our case, trying to find Vicky 🤣

In the midst of that search, I ran into Hive account@emilypino, which was kind of like a flash because everyone was looking for someone, and after going around in circles for a while, we finally found Victor, Victoria's dad, whom I hadn't seen in years. But as I said, family is family, and despite not having seen each other for so long, we hugged and immediately started chatting to catch up a bit. And of course, I took the opportunity to take some new photos with my children, who didn't remember Victor because they hadn't seen him in over 11 years.

En ese momento ya los graduandos se estaban organizando para lo que sería "La corredera", una caminata hasta la universidad que queda a unas 3 o 4 cuadras de la Basílica y que se convertiría en "corredera" cuando los chicos estuviesen cerca, pero lamentablemente nosotros no participaríamos porque mi mamá estaba con nosotros y no podía caminar tanto, así que decidimos esperar en la plaza que se encuentra frente a la Basílica y dar tiempo para que los chicos realizaran la actividad, y ya con la vía desocupada poder ir hasta la UNIMAR (Universidad de Margarita).

Así que mientras tanto recorrimos el lugar, vimos toda las muestras de artesanías, dulces tradicionales, recorrimos la plaza, y hasta comimos "raspados" y empanadas, para finalmente ir hasta la universidad y encontrarnos con Vicky y mi prima Maribel.

At that point, the graduates were already organizing themselves for what would be "La corredera," a walk to the university, which is about three or four blocks from the Basilica. It would become a "corredera" when the students were close, but unfortunately, we wouldn't be participating because my mom was with us and couldn't walk that far. so we decided to wait in the square in front of the Basilica and give the boys time to do the activity, and once the road was clear, we could go to UNIMAR (University of Margarita).

So in the meantime, we explored the place, saw all the handicrafts and traditional sweets on display, walked around the square, and even ate "raspados" and empanadas, before finally going to the university to meet up with Vicky and my cousin Maribel.

Una vez en la universidad y después de los abrazos y felicitaciones, por supuesto que las fotos no podían faltar, así como un recorrido por la UNIMAR que por cierto es una universidad absolutamente hermosa, y que dentro de poquito les compartiré un poco más de ella en un post especial para Hive Margarita.

En resumen, fue una mañana bastante diferente, de reencuentros, abrazos, muchísima emoción y alegría tango por Victoria como por Rosmary quien también en unos días recibirá su título de Abogada.

Once at the university, after the hugs and congratulations, of course we had to take photos and tour UNIMAR, which is an absolutely beautiful university. I will share a little more about it soon in a special post for Hive Margarita.

In short, it was a very different morning, full of reunions, hugs, and lots of excitement and joy for both Victoria and Rosmary, who will also receive her law degree in a few days.
