Temazcal, also known as the “Sweat Tent”, is a steam bath with medicinal herbs with a deep spiritual connotation.
It is a ritual that promotes the purification of the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. Within Temazcal, we remember our primordial nature – Children of the Earth.
Our ancestors built the temazcal to represent a womb, where a new being will feed from the navel of mother earth.
These baths have been used by several indigenous cultures of Mesoamerica and North America for medicinal purposes of detoxification through perspiration and herbal infusions.
