Greetings to the entire creative community.
Yesterday I told you that I was very happy, because I am closing projects with clients, and this leaves me much more time to work on personal projects. I like working with certain clients with whom I have become deeply involved on a professional level and the feedback processes have been fascinating. However, from other clients I have learned simply to add clauses in contracts.
Working in the design area has opened the doors for me to discover niches that were completely unknown to me until recently: artificial intelligence software design, logistics, user experience design are some of my clients' niches and I am so grateful for having worked with them for showing me all the areas in which I can contribute creatively. For me, this has a special meaning, because as I have told you on some occasion, I am not a professional in the design area, my career is in a totally different area; only that the arts are my love and everything I do about it I do with passion. Of course, I have studied a lot on my own, I have read, I have taken courses, but above all I am a tireless observer, and I believe that this is perhaps the way I enjoy the most to learn.
Today I want to share with you something that for work reasons I have not done for some time: an illustration that preserves its line made with traditional technique: mechanical pencil.
The illustration
A few months ago I took an online course on a well-known educational platform with an illustrator that I admire a lot, and who is surely one of my favorites: Patricio Betteo. In his course I learned a lot of details, especially how to begin to free myself from some realistic aesthetics that haunt me, and to give my imagination a little more free rein. Patricio prefers to leave the original lines in his illustrations, and in this I agree a lot with him. I feel that while digital colorization gives me impressive freedom, traditional techniques also add charm.
By the Caribbean Sea is an illustration that took me a couple of days. Although it seems to people that illustration is much simpler than digital painting with realistic effects, it is not. The illustration also requires time, dedication in the details, and above all (at least for me) the composition and narrative in it.
Hope you like it, it took me a little while to unlock the illustration chip and free myself from design thinking, coding and painting. However, the result satisfies me, and I am eager to do many more.

Saludos a toda la comunidad creativa.
Ayer les comentaba que estaba muy feliz, pues estoy cerrando proyectos con clientes, y esto me deja mucho más tiempo para trabajar en proyectos personales. Me gusta trabajar con ciertos clientes con quienes me he compenetrado muchísimo a nivel profesional y los procesos de retroalimentación han sido fascinantes. Sin embargo, de otros clientes he aprendido simplemente agregar cláusulas en los contratos.
Trabajar en el área del diseño me ha abierto las puertas a conocer nichos que para mí eran completamente ajenos hasta hace poco: diseño de softwares de inteligencia artificial, logística, diseño de experiencia de usuario son algunos de los nichos de mis clientes y estoy tan agradecida de haber trabajado con ellos por haberme mostrado todas las areas en las que puedo contribuir con creatividad. Para mi, esto tiene un significado especial, pues como les he dicho en alguna ocasión no soy profesional en el área de diseño, mi carrera es en un area totalmente diferente; solo que las artes son mi amor y lo todo lo que hago al respecto lo hago con pasión. Por supuesto, he estudiado muchísimo por mi cuenta, he leído, he tomado cursos, pero sobre todo soy una observadora incansable, y creo que ésta es quizás la manera que más disfruto para aprender.
La ilustración
Hoy les quiero compartir algo que por motivos de trabajo no hacía desde hace algún tiempo: una ilustración que conserva su linea hecha con técnica tradicional: portaminas.
Hace algunos meses tomé un curso online en una conocida plataforma educativa con un ilustrador que admiro muchísimo, y que es de seguro uno de mis favoritos: Patricio Betteo. En su curso aprendí muchos detalles, especialmente para empezar a liberarme de algunas estéticas realistas que me persiguen, y dejarle un poco más de rienda suelta a la imaginación. Patricio prefiere dejar las lineas originales en sus ilustraciones, y en esto coincido mucho con él. Siento que, aunque la colorización digital me da una libertad impresionante, las técnicas tradicionales también aportan su encanto.
By the Caribbean Sea es una ilustración que me tomó un par de días. Aunque a las personas les parezca que la ilustración es mucho más sencilla que la pintura digital con efectos realistas, no es así. La ilustración también requiere su tiempo, dedicación en los detalles, y sobre todo (por lo menos para mi) la composición y narrativa en ella.
Espero que les guste, me costó un poco desbloquear el chip de la ilustración y liberarme un poco del pensamiento de diseño, código y pintura. Sin embargo, el resultado me satisface, y estoy ansiosa por hacer muchas más.
