Hey there, folks. There's been another long hiatus in my participating in the Splinterlands Art Contest - and I'd like to think it was for good reason since I've honed my programming skills in the meantime.
But I've longed for submitting another entry to the contest - but not a crappy one - so I decided to take a break and not rush it, take my time learning drawing techniques in the meantime to be able to submit something decent.
The materials...
I used are as follows:
Soft and oil pastel, marker, ink, pencil, and pen.
The Procedure
this time was a lot more complicated than the previous ones.
First, I drew a rough outline with a pencil. Then, after the whole picture was more clear, I used a pigmented ink pen to draw clearer outlines. After that, I used a brush to mark the darker areas and separate them from others.
When I was done outlining and separating the areas, I used a soft pastel as a base layer and colored on top of it using pencils. Also, the background was colored with a black marker.
In the end, being the enchantress she is and trying to give her more "enchanting" vibes, I decided to use oil pastels to give her some yellow "magical aura", and I think that experiment turned out fine and gave the whole thing more of a realistic feeling (particles yk).
It wasn't easy for the oil pastels to leave a mark on the painting, so I stroked the painting with the pastel, that's why it looks as it does.
Anyways, here's the in-game card photo of the Dark Enchantress:
I really hope this week is the one that marks another start of my art fevers, but anyways, stay safe and keep drawing folks...
Cheers~
