Hi all dear friends and welcome back to my blog, lately I've been traveling many different paths exploring new styles of art and this is because I've always felt that colors escape me in my illustrations. Being from a drawing-only school, it has been difficult for me for a long time to understand how colors are related to each other, an aspect that for many people is natural to understand, although I have not achieved it so easily, even so with a lot of effort I have advanced slowly but surely and now looking to improve my relationship with colors and how to apply them to my illustrations, I am focusing my gaze towards a more traditional style of painting, trying to give more life and depth to my creations while trying to grow as an illustrator.
Seeking to achieve that improvement in my art, I have followed in the footsteps of traditional watercolor artists who manage to create works with so much life that they seem to jump off the canvas at some point, although it is not an easy task at least for me to emulate traditional strokes, however in Based on these studies, today I bring you the last illustration that I have created, which I hope you like.
Hola a todos queridos amigos y bienvenidos de vuelta a mi blog, últimamente estoy recorriendo muchos caminos distintos explorando nuevos estilos de arte y esto se debe a que siempre eh sentido que los colores se me escapan en mis ilustraciones. Yo al ser de una escuela de solo dibujo me ha costado durante mucho tiempo entender cómo se relacionan entre si los colores, un aspecto que para muchas personas es natural de entender, aunque yo no lo eh logrado con tanta facilidad, aun así con mucho esfuerzo eh avanzado lento pero seguro y ahora buscando mejorar mi relación con los colores y el cómo aplicarlos a mis ilustraciones estoy enfocando la mirada hacia una estilo más tradicional de pintura intentando dar más vida y profundidad a mis creaciones al mismo tiempo que intento crecer como ilustrador.
Buscando lograr esa mejoría en mi arte eh seguido los pasos de artistas tradicionales de acuarela que logran crear obras con tanta vida que parece que saltaran del lienzo en algún punto, aunque no es tarea fácil al menos para mí emular los trazos tradicionales, sin embargo, en base a esos estudios hoy les traigo la última ilustración que eh creado que espero sea de su agrado.
Relato - Story
There where there is nothing and life is extinguished, where loneliness is the most frequent company, in the unimaginable depth where darkness reigns, where pressure compresses stones and destroys everything, where the cold freezes the living and shelters the dead, where the water stagnates and stops flowing, there where there is nothing... there exists a being, he reigns covered in darkness and manages to see each grain in the ocean, where the cold freezes he does not feel cold, because he is covered with scales of many colors as hard as diamonds and as beautiful and brilliant as rubies and sapphires, there in that inhospitable place he shines calmly, there in that desolate place lives the lord of the depths of the ocean.
Allí donde no hay nada y la vida se extingue, allí donde la soledad es la compañía más frecuente, en la profundidad inimaginable donde reina la oscuridad, donde la presión comprime piedras y destruye todo, donde el frio congela a los vivos y cobija a los muertos, donde el agua se estanca y deja de correr, allí donde no hay nada... allí existe un ser, el reina cubierto de oscuridad y logra ver cada grano en el océano, donde el frio congela el no siente frio, pues está cubierto de escamas de muchos colores tan duras como diamantes y tan hermosas y brillantes como rubíes y zafiros, allí en ese inhóspito lugar el brilla tranquilamente, allí en ese desolado lugar vive el señor de las profundidades del océano.
Proceso - Process
For this occasion I wanted to be inspired by a beautiful animal and I chose a "betta fish", one of the fish that in my opinion is one of the most beautiful and elegant animals that exist, covered in a curtain of radiant colors that protrudes from its extremities and accompanied by a calm and relaxed swim is the perfect inspiration for this occasion.
To give it a more original touch I wanted to add an unusual detail, in this case flowers, I wanted it to be covered with flowers and for that I decided to incorporate several designs first.
Para esta ocasión quise inspirarme en un hermoso animal y escogí a un "pez betta", unos de los peces que en mi opinión es uno de los más hermosos y elegantes animales que existe, cubierto de una cortina de colores radiantes que sobresale de sus extremidades y acompañado de un nado tranquilo y relajado es la inspiración perfecta para esta ocasión.
Para darle un toque más original quise agregarle un detalle inusual, en este caso flores, quise que estuviera cubierto de flores y para ello de dispuse a incorporar varios diseños primeramente.
After having drawn the flowers of my illustration, I proceed to add different colors in different shades trying to give shape and color to the main character, the betta fish.
Luego de haber dibujado las flores de mi ilustración procedo a agregar diversos colores en distintas tonalidades intentando dar forma y color al personaje principal, el pez betta.
Having the basic shape of our fish, I decide to incorporate more details, in this case I add colors trying to emulate the veil that protrudes from its extremities, I use different colors trying to create a mosaic that is pleasing to the eye.
Ya teniendo la forma básica de nuestro pez decido incorporar más detalles, en este caso agrego colores intentando emula el velo que sobresale de sus extremidades, uso diversos colores intentando crea un mosaico agradable a la vista.
At this point we already have the general shape of our fish well formed and it is time to start adding the final touches, I start by creating a mist based on black that will cover the remaining parts of the illustration and I give the final touches with several layers of contrasts , shadows and brightness that will endow the work with great life and fluidity.
En este punto ya tenemos bien formada la forma general de nuestro pez y es hora de empezar a agregar los toques finales, empiezo creando una niebla en base al negro que cubrirá las partes restantes de la ilustración y doy los toques finales con varias capas de contrastes, sombras y brillos que dotaran de gran vida y fluidez la obra.
