Daily Painting – Palms, Flu A & Ballet Chaos
Hey guys, yep, I know it’s been a week… but I finished my month posting challenge and boy I was DONE.
To be fair, I have painted… just like 10 mins a day. Between Flu A and THE ballet concert, it’s been a total mess.
Flu A Descends…
So… one week before the dance concert, a lovely child shared Flu A in one dance class.
(Not their fault, just terrible timing.)
The day most of the newly infected kids were starting to show mild symptoms was the day 250 kids were squashed into one studio for the full run-through.
I reckon 30–40 of them got Flu A from that one day.
Then the next day they were all at the civic centre for dress rehearsal, and the rest (and their parents) got it.
End result: about 50% of the studio and their parents down with Flu A.
Concert prep = chaos.
The Concert
The show must go on — and it did, beautifully.
It started with all three of us still with flu, standing side stage, waiting to go on… when my 11-year-old thought:
“Gee… what a fantastic time to pull out my tooth.”
So she did.
Side stage.
Thanks child… I’ll hold your bloody tooth while you dance!!!
HUZZAH.
42 costume changes later I lost the plot somewhere and found it again somewhere in Act Three… eventually.
Despite the coughing mid-performance, the chaos, the flu, and my vanishing sanity, a great time was had by all. Our teacher does a VERY professional job — although this year was full of kids coughing on stage mid-performance… lol.
THE PAINTING
Not sure why I randomly decided to do palm trees and scrub next to the ocean… but I did.
This is another little daily painting, using my standard palette.

I had to redo the greens a few times — wasn’t happy with them — so it took longer than normal.
Does It Need More?
Yep… it probably needs a few more highlights in the lower greens.
But honestly?
I’m out of fucks today. 😂
So this one is officially DONE.
Thanks for dropping by, and happy creating everyone!
