Dear art friends,
I've had a deeply-reflective break from my easel, and it has been incredibly refreshing!
Today was the first time sitting for a few hours painting, in our weekly Co-Creation Session hosted by 🤩
I'll publish another podcast very soon in my What The F*** Is Art For?! series - on "when we stop making art". My haitus was profoundly helpful in reorienting me with my creative flow, after several months' feeling into what it'd be like if I never painted again...
It is around 35 years that I've had a steady drawing and painting practise, and my art career has involved sales and publicity in multiple countries... I've struggled at many points to subsist, but have never compromised - nor given up.
But taking a major pause for reflection is powerfully fruitful... my hands were full of sewing, plants, cement and wood in the meantime, and something has relaxed in my soul around my confidence, even in the light of heavy censorship of my work.
I'm re-enthused and loving getting into my mastery again....
All good things to you in your creative work xx
Clare.
