Besides painting, I like collecting small things from daily life. Combining those 2 interests I did this work, being in Latvia:
In this work I used the tickets of the transportation (Riga trolleybus 15) as a subtle background for a painting. First I glued them on a wooden board and started to paint over it in black and white a scene that represented to me the ambient of the interior of that trolley.
While painting, I kept collecting the tickets with my daily trips and continued gluing them on the board
The oil painting allowed me to play with the opacity, so some areas are denser and in others is possible to see the tickets subtly.
And this is the final result, after framing it:
I really enjoyed the slow but funny process to represent the ambient of that trolleybus, using emblematic elements from that place and adding with painting a personal interpretation of that routine.
