Sharing another piece in bits
This lovely lady is, like more of my pieces
in stasis waiting for completion. Care she little, however, for she is eternal.
And like a true dabbler
I had sketched out and done the underpainting
only to then work on random bits. Here her lovely visage and there a hand at her waist. I love details of fabric and trifling accouterments in antique fashion.
And still I continue onward
being a poor Hiver (is that what we are? We are no longer Steemians we are now ...What Hivians? Hivers? Who can say) None the less, trying to touch base with others online, but the Garden...
Oh how the Garden calls...
I think the result will be not only , let us hope, a food bounty come Summer, but also wonderful inspiration for coming paintings.
And an odd happenstance of this shutdown
and being here and sharing my works on #hive has been that I am actually contemplating focusing more on My Singularity works. These more painterly ladies (still some animals of course there must Always be ANIMALS) but I've a renewed passion for it.
You see as Artists
we too, must eat. And my bread and butter has been the darling and decorative involving animals. Really, not too much a burden as I love decorative art and I love Animals and I even love (SOMETIMES) the graphic design involved in properly placing, resizing, adding , tweaking the pieces to fit on curtains, and bedding, clothing, and bags...But I had a little fantasy the other day...
I'll share that now:
I was in my new veg garden, which is in a spot next our Boathouse/outbuilding where I keep my 'Summer Studio' and really the entire place is a bit of a mess. Yes, I've a wonderful sea view, but the interior view is a bit to be desired, but I digress,
I had just ceased stooping over seedlings
when I looked up over my new fencing, dirt on my face and sea breeze in my hair and pictured myself, on a day such as that, rambling into this 'Summer Studio' and Only painting lovely ladies. Hours dabbing at well turned hands on hips or beribboned dresses trailing in a painterly sea of flowers.
And I thought, "Gee I could just paint these ladies and their animal companions only exclusively, well into my dotage"
Of course we artists, much like we women, are given the Prerogative to change our minds on a whim. We are the class of people to which the MOST is excused in eccentricities of any behaviour, surely another Bonus to being of the Artist Class, eh?
Well, I've badgered on long enough
and I hope all are enjoying this fine day. For some it's Winter, Other's Just Summer. For many it remains lockdown, as it is in my own state for now, for others, the first moments to go out and see a bit of the "old normal" if any of us can recall what THAT may be.
Do have a lovely day
no matter where or what you are up to. And if you get a moment, plant a seed and then dream over it about some grand life of pleasurable idleness...It's a great use of one's time.
