Today I'm sharing the next phase of the last painting where in a red blob has been transformed.
A bit more of it:
If you had not seen my last sharing of this piece, the "Red Blob" is hovering round the skirts of our lady in the lower right.
Progress is sometimes for the better,
though if our current world is in any way called 'progress' I believe I'd love a hearty dose of 'Regression' if at all possible. I'd take it like a dutiful 19th century child pinching my nose and swallowing my 'castor oil' to maintain health.
There is little need to even mention the world at present
each and everyone of you are experiencing the "New Normal" (dreadful term) in differing ways. I am still experiencing it in a lockdown of sorts, yet after the protests began, I see many more unmasked people traveling to my idyllic spot here on the cool New England coast, searching for sea and a reprieve...Can you blame them? Well, some can and do...
It is at times like this that I am happy to be an Artist
often one isn't expected to have too many opinions on world events, as if we so choose we can point at our works and say, "well, this speaks the volumes I cannot say" and even IF your painting is of a puppy in a chair eating sweets, well, let the 'public' decide. They will anyway.
The Public, which is people en Masse
are always of a different mind that a single person. A single person has rational, sympathy, contemplative thought...The Public, The Crowd, is like an undulating beastly dragon looking for things upon which to set alight. But, I digress.
Happily trying to be lost in sketching and gardens whilst the world burns,
one begins to feel a bit like Nero, though you'd not want to hear MY fiddle, despite my having had a few lessons.
I hope all of you enjoy your day as much as you can
and I hope you enjoy this next bit of this painting. The little fellow on the Red Sofa wonders at the flying technology going past, not bothered by what it's about... This, is much like myself, when I happen upon another 'news story' of the day. I can marvel and be baffled at it, but I'll sit idle and pointless like a lapdog on a velvet sofa.
