My black and white witch series was a joy to create
It had a bit of humour in it
or at least I thought so.
My lady witches, armed with trusty familiar, found ways to accomplish their goals.
And this lovely lady needed a quill and some ink
So, she did what she must, with the help of her friend. I can't say for sure that this wasn't a bit influenced by my own love of Minecraft where in we do need to access squid for ink. Though in this case, I believe I drew an octopus, but the idea is the same.
I was happy to see that
inveted the tag #showcase-sunday
in a means to share some things we have shared in old posts
Unless, of course, I'm misunderstanding the hastag which, quite frankly, could very well be the case.
In any case enjoy the piece
in my black and white pieces I attempt to use ONLY black and the white of the page, I leave shadow and subtlety to my original sketches. When I ink over those sketches I am looking for the light and dark only and hope that I convey an actual image. Sometimes they can seem almost a Rorschach test, but that is part of their charm, to me anyway.
