Sometimes creating art is about knowing where to put emphasis. Do you want to go for something very detailed or rather go for a clean finish? Well, I often get bog down by choosing both, and as a result, both get compromised. Sometimes, cleaning up a sculpture only introduce more imperfections that would've remained hidden behind a coarse surface. But not this time! I went for a minimalistic shape, keeping it abstract enough so I could sand everything down nicely without it being an insane amount of work.
Another thing I'm still trying to figure out is varnishing. I gave this one just one coating so that it would keep its matte texture. Sometimes gloss looks good, but again, matte keep everything intentionally more raw.
I still don't know how to name this piece, so if you have any idea, please leave a comment!
