Embellishment of a line drawing/photo of myself

So, I took a selfie some months ago, and used the prisma app on my phone, experimenting.
↑↑This was one of those, a B&W rendering of me, not very attractive.
In High School, I used to love to draw in pencil, using my fingertip for shading and gradating the dark pencil into the lighter shades etc.
Never did like painting or watercolor, but I dabbled in 'oil pastel'

I've had these for years, just haven't felt the muse.
I got quite good with them at one time, or so I was told.
So I've been meaning to try this. Step by step

Looks like doo doo, but then so do I

I don't know if I'll continue on with this one or not.

We shall see.
