Today I want to share a painting I did in 2024 titled “Coke and Fanta.” It’s a still-life painting, but I wanted to make it more than just two bottles, I wanted it to feel alive and full of color.
This piece was done on chipboard, and the size is 18 x 24 inches. The subject is simple: two popular drinks that almost everyone knows—Coca-Cola and Fanta. They are side by side, slightly leaning toward each other, like two friends sharing a moment. The background is a bold, rich blue that makes the colors of the bottles pop out.
One of my favorite things about this painting is the contrast of colors. The deep black of the Coke bottle and the bright orange of the Fanta create a strong visual impact. It feels vibrant and refreshing, just like opening a cold drink on a hot day.
I also wanted the brushstrokes to show. The visible strokes in the background add texture and movement so that the painting doesn’t feel flat. It’s simple, but it has energy.
To me, this painting is not just about drinks, it’s about connection and everyday life. Coke and Fanta are everywhere, part of our culture, part of our daily experiences. This work reflects companionship, consumer culture, and how simple things can have meaning.
What do you think? Does it make you feel like grabbing a cold Coke or Fanta? Let me know in the comments!
