Hi all 😊
I wanted to show you some steps of an Kingfisher artwork I’m working on “at the moment” / it is a work in progress (in other words: WIP)
The Kingfisher is a gouache painting I started in October 2015 and worked on and off on until April 2016.
~The Dimensions are 29 x 19,5 cm
~Underground is a museum quality mount-board.
~Gouache paints I am using are from Dahler Rowney and Winsor and Newton
The reference photo is used with permission from Dave Webb. (Photographer)
This is the stage I’m at at the moment:
I wanted to share with you also the steps up until now.
In the first photo I show you that I airbrushed in the background. To get a diffused look… so that when I start painting the kingfisher, he will jump out more.
After finishing the background I sketched with a graphite pencil lightly the details. Here I made an beginning with the gouache paint I applied with normal brushes.
A little further
I had an exhibition in Malaga center…Spain. The artists showed their artworks and painted live during this “show”. Next photo is me painting the kingfisher in front of my other artworks.
I layered the gouache paint and concentrated on the fish. Building up texture.
Once home again I made more progress on his head
Then his body
Next I moved a few times and didn’t start on it again until 1 year later.
You can see I worked on his breast more and started the moss on the branch.
Then I moved country 2 times with moves around there. Life happened/ other things needed to get prioritised. So my artwork had to be put on hold.
So This is the stage I am still right now.
Hope to pick it up very soon again. 😉😎
I think Hive will help me with that… to show you my work in progresses from my artworks. Even New work I am thinking about 😁😁
