"Pelicans in the sunset" is an 30" x 40" acrylic artwork realized on gallery stretched canvas I created last December for the Union of Romanian Artists and Musicians in Canada. It's part of a quadriptych meant to illustrate the beauty of the Romanian landscapes.
This was a collaborative project I worked on with other three talented Romanian visual artists from Montreal. The quadriptych was donated by the artists to the Union and it is currently exhibited at its Montreal headquarters.
My painting "Pelicans in the sunset" is depicting an evening in the Danube's Delta and aims to raise awareness about the curly pelicans which are an endangered species. This painting was inspired by a late boat ride on the Mousura Bay (Black Sea), where I was delighted by the fiery sky, some magnificent pelicans and the Sulina's new lighthouse.
To have a closer look at the artwork, check the image below. You could note the 3D texture on the pelicans' bodies as well on the plants.
