The "Yin Yang" as everybody is aware of it with the symbol somehow. A quick recap from Wikipedia:
In Ancient Chinese philosophy, yin and yang (/jɪn/ and /jɑːŋ, jæŋ/; Chinese: 陰陽 yīnyáng, lit. "dark-bright", "negative-positive") is a concept of dualism, describing how seemingly opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world, and how they may give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another.
This is about dualism and I like to express my thoughts visually. And here I wanted to express the art of photography with yin and yang. As you may know, some part of the photography is about light and dark. And everything in between light and dark which are shadows. Apart from composition, the rule of thirds, rhythm, etc., lighting is where everything starts. If no light then there is no picture. If no dark then there is no texture. If one exists then the other is needed.
Also, there is another important technique for photography which is using or building a "contrast". It can be an idea, color, weight, shape, feeling, lighting, etc... So this symbol in place of the lens can directly represent that as well.
So this vector drawing I made was an expression of the importance of light and dark in photography. Below is an animation that may strengthen the idea.
I hope you liked the idea. And I hope this may bring inspiration to those who seek it.
