Hey, Everyone!
How have you been? I'm in the last days of my vacation and I've just now decided to pick up a pencil and draw something. It seems that my drawing hand needed some rest and didn't care that I promised my Hive peeps to show them pictures.
However. The characters I tried to draw (fromDimention 20's Misfits And Magic) turned out to be quite the challenge! Who'd have known that it'd be difficult to draw people who look different than you?
You see, most of my country's population is Caucasian. That means that I almost never get to see any people from other races and when I do, I avert my eyes quickly because I've been taught that it's impolite to stare (I do this with Caucasian people, too - I don't think it's racially based).
What that means is that I'm struggling when drawing people of other races. I can't figure out their proportions, the form of their faces or features, the way their hair falls, etc. Even when I draw from a reference, I still don't quite get them and I can't figure why.
I really want to have more diversity in my art but I don't even know where to start teaching myself! Do you know of any resources or courses or anything that can help me?
