Hello, Everyone!
Have you heard of Hourly Comic Day?
As far as I could gather, it's a sort of an unofficial art challenge/holiday that was created in 2006 by John Campbell. It's supposed to happen every year on the 1st of February and everyone who's participating is supposed to make a comic for every hour that they're awake.
I've done it once before and I had a lot of fun. As you can see below, I've improved since the last time (or at least put a lot more effort into the whole thing).
I'm really proud of how it turned out!
So, without any further ado, here's my Hourly Comic:
I hope that the 'story' is clear, but just in case:
Our son woke us up very early in the morning and my husband, bless his heart, took him in the other room so that I could sleep a bit more. After I was up, we took care of some chores, prepared our luggage and drove to a nice village in the mountains called Yundola. After two hours in the car seat, our kid went crazy in the hotel restaurant, but then went exploring outside with his dad while I had some time to draw.
Then, we tried to put the little one to bed, ended up dozing off ourselves, and got woken up abruptly by a toddler jumping up and down our heads. We went on a walk in the snow, got the kid tired and tried putting him to bed again. This time we succeeded and I had half an hour to draw before he awoke (with a vengeance). Luckily, then it was party-time and the kiddo got entertained without any of our help. We ate, danced, played, and I used the opportunity to draw - right there and then on the table, while the music was blasting (yeah, I'm a party animal, I know).
Finally, I went back to our room, did some meditation and joined the kid for a good night's sleep.
And that was my day. How do you record your days when you want to remember them? Do you draw? Journal? Blog? I'd love to know!
See you in the future!
Take care and be well!
Also, if you don't follow me, you might not know what I usually do out here. So, here's a link to 'Mary Windfiddle's Adventures' - the story I've been writing and illustrating for the past three years! Hope you like it! ❤️
