Last year, in the middle of the pandemic, I started listening to a silly D&D podcast. It helped me cope with the isolation and stress, and I was able to get over the art block I was experiencing at that time. It was so much fun to just dive in the world of these characters and imagine them the way I wanted to!
This is the first fanart I did for the podcast. It's of the three main characters - Taako the elf, Magnus the human and Merle the dwarf.
The actual sketch was quite small - only 12x12cm (4.7x4.7in). It was quite messy and I had no idea how Magnus should hold his shield.
Fotrunatelly, it's a shield and that means that it covers the hand holding it 😅
I traced the picture with Pigma Microns and had a pretty good lineart.
Then I scanned it and printed it on an A4 piece of paper. That way, when I colored it with my Copic markers I was able to get into more details than I'd have been able on the smaller scale.
I'm really happy with the final result!
I hope you like it, too!
