Greetings to all!
What is plein air? Let's try to figure it out. Plein air is a picturesque display of nature in natural light, an image of the features of light and the richness of colors of objects in nature in a natural environment. This word is of French origin, from en plein air - "in the open air."
Initially, plein airs meant only pictorial techniques, but these restrictions have long been shifted. Now the open air is considered to be drawing outdoors in any technique, be it paints, a simple pencil, markers, pastels or any other material, and even a graphic tablet!
The purpose of the plein air is to maximally display the colorfulness of nature, airiness and illumination, to capture the moment, then the movement, the impermanence of the landscape.
Professionals usually use oil paints in the open air. Oil painting is considered the most realistic and more solid. Oil paints allow you to overlap one layer with another. The paint layer is very dense and saturated.
I prefer watercolors. They can easily convey transparency, airiness, as well as give liveliness to the work with various smudges and infusions of paints. In addition, the watercolor dries quickly and at the end of the lesson there will be an absolutely finished work.
Let's go back to the watercolor. Traditional step by step feed...
