It has been 10 days since I painted last. There is lot of factors deterring .. the main culprit is my 15 month old. She needs me most of time these days and refuses to sleep without me. Normally I start painting when she is put to sleep. Now most of the days I might sleep before she is off! 😖
I am planning to find a new timing and her afternoon nap looks better time for me to paint than night. 😁
I had the paper ready stretched 4 days back and then I didn't get time even to put pencil on it.. the tape had almost come off. So today when I went to paint, I looked at an easy subject. Just to brush off any rustiness.
The reference is this pic from Pinterest which had been in my list for may be an year or so. I didn't paint it so far because I felt it was very mainstream subject. 😁
Sketch
Made a quick sketch with main subject in focus and started painting. I did a time lapse of this painting as one of my friend had asked to show me how I mix my greens.
Process
Here is a quick 2 min video of the painting process on YouTube.
As you can see I mix lot of green on paper itself. Like painting the blue first and adding different yellows Reds and Brown's into it. And i also add mixed greens from palette anloing to it. The logic is to get a wide variety of greens as in nature, keeping the colour perspective.
