Hello everyone!
Have you ever wondered how would it look like an animal version of yourselves? And which animal would you be?
What animal would portray your facial features the better?
Would it be a bird? A hippopotamus?
That was exactly the exercise I wanted to make with this new drawing!
One day I decided it would be a great idea to look closer to my facial features and figure out which animal could fit the most in them.
Some people have features that are slightly similar to existent animal features, and I'm sure you know at least one person whose face could be easily associated with an animal. Like permanently grumpy faced people who look like bulldogs, you know haha
During this little experiment, I asked some friends to look at me and tell me the first animal it came to their minds.
They said: "A sloth... Or a koala... A SEAL".
And I went with the seal because seals are very cute and I agreed with that comparison haha
And the testing begannnNNNNNN. I made several sketches before the final drawing, showing the slow process until it turned out like this:

With my disheveled hair, round chubby cheeks and my lucky hat, I present to you:
Claudia as a slightly winking seal!
That thing with the hand is one of my most characteristic gestures when I speak to someone. Because my awkwardness is chronic.

I'm saying: Hmm ;)
Now the collateral part of this was me ending up with some sketches due to experimentation, and maybe those deserve to be shown too!
Making "foca" studies!!
Then a poorly drawn me-seal hybrid with my curly hair.
And another hmmm ;)
I used mixed media in this drawing! I started with a watercolor foundation and then I gave it some final touches with graphite and colored pencils. It was one of the most fun drawings I've made, and it's an exercise I highly recommend, of course!
It reminded me of the fun part of art, that one we, art-makers, tend to forget so easily!
Thank you for reading!
