When I finished the last brushstrokes, I had no idea what was about to unfold. The dancer in blue, whom I'd been painting all day, suddenly twitched. At first, I thought I was hallucinating from hunger or maybe I'd had one too many glasses of wine, but no ‒ she actually moved! Her turquoise skirt began to ripple, as if caught by an invisible breeze, and her black bodice gleamed with reflections from silver chains and pendants.
Suddenly, the dancer turned directly toward me and winked. "Well, here I am!" she declared confidently. "You've been thinking about me for so long, so now I'm finally here!" She started dancing right there in my room, her steps stirring the air and the colors on my palette spontaneously blending. I was so stunned that I dropped my paintbrush. As she danced, she told me a story about passion, freedom, and the desire to move. And I just sat there, watching my painting literally come to life before my eyes.
Když jsem dokončil poslední tahy štětcem, netušil jsem, co se stane. Ta tanečnice v modrém, kterou jsem maloval celý den, sebou náhle škubla. Zprvu jsem myslel, že mám halucinace z hladu nebo jestli jsem toho vína vypil o sklenici víc, ale ne ‒ ona se opravdu pohnula! Její tyrkysová sukně se začala vlnit, jako by ji ovíval neviditelný vítr, a černý živůtek se leskl odlesky stříbrných řetízků a přívěsků.
Najednou se tanečnice otočila přímo ke mně a mrkla. „Tak tady mě máš!“ prohlásila sebevědomě. „Tak dlouho jsi na mě myslel, tak teď jsem konečně tady!“ Začala tančit přímo u mě v pokoji, její kroky rozvířily vzduch a barvy na paletě se samovolně mísily. Byl jsem tak perplex, že jsem upustil štětec. Když tančila, vyprávěla mi příběh příběh o vášni, svobodě a touze po pohybu. A já jen seděl a díval se, jak můj obraz doslova oživnul před očima.

Předlohou k tomuto obrázku mi byla jedna z tanečnic souboru Jahanara, kterou jsem vyfotil při vystoupení na hradě Helfštýně.
