Hello everyone, today is Black Friday and my daughter suggested to go to the art store, a place that we really like to go. She pointed out that's some watercolors were on special and that she has seen them in many videos on YouTube andthat I should get them. How could I resist, I got them. It was a little pack of 12 half tone colors made by Winsor. While I was there, I figured that I might as well get some good paper as they are on special as well. After all, they aome down to the same price as the cheap paper that I usually get.....by cheap, well not that cheap, it is better to say cheaper as it does cost some $$$. We did get quite more stuff, but the rest was mostly for her.
So as soon as we came home, I was motivated to make something. Since it was my first time using those watercolors (I have been using a cheap set for quite a while, some colors are dirty, then again I don't remember paying much for them so it just did not are much), I went for something more classic, something where I ould concentrate onlighting and shadows without being lost.
I use a program on one of my computer which is called Corel Painter Essential, there was a sale the other day and in their ad there was a woman with blue hair with reddish highlights so that's where I base my mind from ( the one from the ad looked incredible, computerize, but I remember that I was really impressed). So I started by doing itsmall sketch using pencil, then I did the major outline using a fine pen to finally have fun coloring. I Love those new little pads of paint that I got, they go very well..
The colors are way more vibrant than what I am used to, So I just had fun trying to water down stuff, going by layers, from light to dark, I simply was just enjoying myself. When it came to the background, again I played around just like a child would do (maybe I was inspired by my daughter that was just exploring stuff on her side not far from me). Once I was done I was happy to show her my results and she was happy to show me hers, a good way to start a Friday evening.
Here are some progress pics
I hope you guys like it. Thanks for the view.
