Hello everyone, tonight, I felt like drawing a portrait. I wanted to use that sanguine pencil as they are a great fit for that type of drawing. Also, it gives a chance to practice the two tone technique that I am learning from books done by William Maughan. Not perfect, but slowly and surely getting better at it. 🙂
So like mentioned, this was done using what is called a sanguigna pencil (or sanguine or sanguina)...it seems to have a few names 😅. To resume it, it has a nice dried bloodish color. I used some white color and the tan of the paper to make the highlights. The "sitting in front of the TV" position is not the best, my eyes started crooked because of the angle that I was sitting at. I had to correct it after sitting straight and seeing it 🙃.
