Today I continue to show my vector illustrations — a month ago I started doing this with one of my last works, Walrus, and today I return back to my earlier works. I've come quite a long way from when I first started creating digital art to my current style, but still really like this vulture image, although it differs from the main series with animals: the drawing turned out to be very illustrative, as if for a book of fairy tales. I imagined some kind of fictional semi-fairy world, like those where Mowgli or the Lion King exist. And somewhere next to them a wise vulture sits on the rock...
I tried to draw a bird with many feathers. It was quite difficult — each line was drawn by hand separately, as the bird in the picture is not symmetrical due to the pose. I really enjoyed this process: I was sitting in front of a monitor screen, calm music was playing, and next to me was a cup of hot tea with lemon and ginger. Real relaxation, and at the same time active creative work.
This is what the original drawing looks like, before coloring. I work on a Wacom tablet in Adobe Illustrator.
Well, and this is a T-shirt — what it could be if this picture was printed on it. Free mockup from Ess Kay.
