Hey Hive!
We're back again with another Art Attack! If you're new to the series, this is where I share my drawings and the process behind them. A behind-the-scenes look at my artwork, if you will. This is not to say that I'm very good at art, or that I'm a professional in any way. In fact this is the opposite, and serves as a reminder to how I first started, and lets me track my progress too!
Since I started streaming on Twitch in 2021, I think my art has improved quite a bit, so I wanted to rework some of my emotes for subscribers! If you didn't know, emotes are like emojis you can use on Twitch chat and while there are some global ones you can use for free, there are also channel-specific emotes you get when you are subscribed to a channel.
I shared the process behind quite a few of my emotes previously.

But now that my art has improved and I have more emote slots thanks to some generous supporters, I wanted to rework some of them.
One of them is this emote:
At the time I thought this looked alright, but it always felt a little off to me. I wanted it to look like this cat meme but with a thumbs up.
I even found a good reference for it last time, but when I drew it it didn't come out quite right.
So I tried again with another reference I found which had a better expression of the same cat. I think this one looked a lot better, maybe because of the extra lines and big soulless eyes?
After I sketched it out it did look a lot more like the expression I was going for initially.
I was debating on keeping the chin line but I think it works. In the end, we get this!
I think this one definitely looks a lot better than the first one. I was still kind of iffy on the hand but I didn't want to mess with it right now. The face is what people will notice more anyway.
And I was so glad people did actually notice! Immediately after I uploaded it, some of my viewers remarked that it looked different and one of my streamer friends even said it's one of her favourite emotes! I felt so honoured.
It feels nice when people notice and appreciate my art since I put a lot of work into it. I'm glad my subscribers enjoy the emotes so much! Everyone's welcome to come and hang out on stream if you're interested. I also stream on Youtube now so come and chill with us!
Thanks so much for reading!
