HI GUYS
I decided to utilize my break at work today to do some value and light study. Initially, I just wanted to sketch and do my heavy strokes thing. But in the end, I made up my mind to add some values and a little bit of detail.
I wasn't a complex composition, but the clothe fold was a little bit of fun to play around. Also, the apples were my best part. I remember when I started digital painting, and I was studying light. Then I was using a soft round brush to soften the transitions. And I could take me a whole lot of time to perfect that. But, look at me now, using hard texture brush to paint the same thing and still provide the same information I was struggling then.
It took me an hour and some minutes to wrap this up. I used a lot of texture brushes to give it that rough and shinning surfaces on the clothing.
## PROCESS
SKETCH
I started with a simple sketch, though I unknowingly shaded on this layer, because I thought, I was shading from the next layer.
Raise your hand if you sometimes make that mistake.
While I was shading here, I noticed the drawing started looking like two guys sitting on a chair, and their heads are the two apples at the right. So, I gave them the name Apple men. I guess they work with Apple. Or maybe, they supply fruits to the company, but things like this you can't tell.
Now, it starts to look creepy. Look at the one on the left, his head was down. I even forgot what I was writing about. Oh, Value study. Alright, here I started adding some big chunks of values. The shapes were large like an alligator mouth, it almost swallowed my stylus, and was attacking my hand. lol
DON'T MIND ME I'M JUST HAVING FUN
Jumping into conclusions like some gender that first ate the apple. Please, this is not my handwriting. Here, I sharpen the edges, added more detailed values, brush up some textures, and made it more appealing to the eye by adding some highlights at the right places.
