Heyaa! I've got here today an art request from Deviant Art. The request was Ash's mom in Nurse Joy's uniform and hair color.
I made my deviant account about a week ago and I've been receiving notes with their requests. Last time that I did a request was three years ago and haven't done any recently. Because I have art request deviations, I figured I should accept some requests again. But it did backfire because I can't say no the first few days so I accepted like five requests but after that I closed my incoming requests so I can somehow breathe lol. On the upside, I have a queue of things I have and want to draw (of course I only accept requests that I like to draw, so far I like everything TvT). This will be a good practice for me since I realized while making this that the more that I draw different things, the more that I will see the similar techniques I use and therefore, I might find my own art style.
I don't really watch Pokemon nor do I have the knowledge about this but drawing a female nurse won't be that hard and I did have fun doing this. I finish it in less than six hours which cool because I usually take a lot of breaks when I create something, usually takes three days and more, but I did this one continuously so, good job meXD.

Illustration Process
Sketches
I had a debate within myself during this process because the requester said that I can draw it in my style. I thought that if I draw it in my style it won't look like Mrs. Ketchum at all. I realized that it's the anime character's eyes and hair that defines them and I'm not as good as to change those and still make the character recognizable so I did everything based on what I think and made the eyes' shape similar to the original character.
Line Art
I did something different to what I usually do in my line art so instead of using the Pen for effect line, I used a Pencil: lighter pencil and had its starting and end customized. Nothings changed that much but it looks softer now.
Base Colors
I finally don't get tired of painting my based colored because I finally watched a tutorial and mastered the filling tool (Tutorial: Master the Fill tool). I usually fill my specified area and then manually fill the sides with gaps which is very tiring. Hopefully during that frustration I decided to learn my software which should be the first thing I did TvT. Now coloring is a piece of cake lol.
Shades and Lights
Nothing unusual about this process as I only did what I usually do. Clip a new layer with multiply mode for shadings and add mode for the lightings. I also don't blend my hair but uses blur tool to blend skin and clothings.
Background
I thought of having a background for this work since I don't want it to look plain so I did my simple but cool background process. I usually hide the character when doing my background so there won't be any obstruction in my view.
lol XD
Final Product
After finishing the background, last thing to do is unhide the character and done! We now have a character and a nice background.
