Hello everyone! I've got another Genshin Impact fan art which is Tartaglia, a.k.a. Childe. It was another fun fan art since I'm most excited about is illustrating Childe's special dish called "A Prize Catch". I've been having more fun illustrating foods I guess~
Today's fan art was inspired by Childe's delusion form. I used his form at the third stage of boss fight that's why his hair is combed up. His bow tie from his scarf thingy, his apron from his cape, and the color and design of his clothes.
Below are the processes.
Sketch
On the sketch, I was kind of having a hard time picking his facial expression and I also did try to make his delusion clothes but I don't want to bother myself so I just made his clothes' 'inspired'. Not all the details are here and you can see that the hands only have lines. I usually do those to visualize and it is also my guide so I can easily draw hands in that certain position.
Line art
I used 'For effect line' pen for the line art for different line weight. I usually used black or maroon color but this time I used browning color. I also separated the character and tray from the bowl line art so I can focus easily when I color the food later.
Base Color
Here is the character's base color in which I used pale colors from the pale pallet. Nothing much here, I used bucket tool to fill all the paces and used pen to fill in the little gaps. Each base colors are most likely separated layers.
Skin, Eye, and Hair
For the details, I used 'multiply' layer effect for the shading and I also used clipping tool. I also used "soft' airbrush tool for the blushes in the cheeks and the finger tips.
Clothes
Here, I also put the additional details of the clothing. I put the wavy things on his bow tie from his scarf. Also the wavy things on his clothes and some of the steel thingy. Welp, I did forgot to put shade on the clothes. As for his apron, I first used an airbrush and shaded it downwards starting from dark to light. Then I used 'finger tip' to mess it a little and create a texture. Then used some spray dots for the white spots.
Food base
First off, I colored the tray light gray then put dark lines and blurred it a little. Then, I proceeded to put details into the bowl. I also used pale colors for some of the details of the soup. I also avoided to use line art so it would look seem more natural.

Food Details
On to my favorite part where I really took my time, is the food details. I did not use layer effects here but I used different shades of red. It's cool because it feels like I'm doing pixel art since I zoomed too much for the details. For the glossy parts I used white and bright yellow for shiny effects. I also used blur tool to make it smoother. The tentacles were really fun since I was first using color almost the same from the base and it's like I'm blindly trusting that it would look okay later. For the soup, I also used white and yellow for the flows.

So here is the final product! I was really happy how it turned out. I did not put any background this time since I can't think of anything and it's bad to force yourself~

Hope you all liked it~

A Prize Catch
I'm starting to question myself if I should do more food illustrations than characters. What do you think? Well, both are fun anyway so Imma just not try to abandon one. I don't want to get rusty making characters too😆
