What we have here is a fanart of Shinobu from Demon Slayer in a summer theme.
I didn't copy the face that much and it was the first time I put effort into making the background.
So here is what I did...
Sketch
The first thing I did is make the sketch of the character then sketching the background. I made a sketch of the background and seems a bit off so I used one point perspective with the horizon line middle so it it will be like looking at it in eye level.
Lineart
Here is the character's lineart. You can see that some part were erased so that it wouldn't weigh too much when it is colored. The background did have a lineart but it was erased since background doesn't really have that much outline.
Background's Base Color
Before coloring the character I colored the background first so it would be easy to adjust the character's color.

So after the base color, I added some shades and effects to bring the beach to life.

After finishing the background I hid its layers so that it won't be in the way as I put the character's base colors.

Then by clipping layers, I added shading and effects to the character's color.
Final Touch - Effects
Now that the character is finished. We can now show the background layers. For finishing, we now add the lighting and shades and there we have it~
