I had been wanting to visit The Linc KL for years due to witnessing many beautiful photos shared by my friends at social media. It is not a super big mall, but more towards natural, greeneries concept, aesthetic-feeling. So, if you like grand classy mall, this is not the mall to go to. It is rather small and low-key, just the type I like. So let's!
After lunch and groceries shopping during Chinese New Year Day 1, everyone said their 'byes' and 'see you'. While we were heading to car park, we noticed a group of lion dance team getting ready, practising their moves and rhythms. Being in Chinese New Year mode, we decided to wait for them to get ready while exploring the mall.
Colourful Stairs
This was highly sought after. So many families queue up to take photos here. We actually waited for quite awhile for the stairs to clear up of people. Finally, it was our turn!
Flowers. Flowers.
One can never get bored of flowers. There was a section selling flowers, I just love the fresh smell of them. So many varieties and colours. It was a beautiful sight. I took some time to admire one by one while husband and children walked somewhere else. These were not that cheap.
Nature and playground
Needing some fresh air, I walked out awhile to the open-air area. Here was playground for kids and a gigantic tree. Love the sight of it too! And the fresh dose of oxygen eased up my suffocated-thalassemic brain. Anyone can reckon?
Dragons
In our Chinese calendar, 2024 is the year of Dragon. So all decorations of dragons were up, these were just some of them. I couldn't capture all due to wanting to be phone-free for awhile at some point in the mall.
Colourful lifts
The mall put effort to beautify their lifts too. This really made it looking distinctive. As I said, it wasn't the grand classy look but more towards nature-habitats type of mall.
Lion Dance
Lion dance had started and we quickly joined the crowd so that we wouldn't be too behind. What a lucky day, we stood right in front. Unfortunately, I couldn't take alot of photos because the loud banging from the drum was killing my ear drum. It hurt so much that I kept my phone to cover my ears with both hands.
Maybe due to this action, the lion kept teasing me. Not the lion per se but the people inside leading the lion. It kept passing oranges to me via its mouth. When I wanted to grab the orange, it closed it mouth to stuck my hand at the mouth. Really... what the....
I didn't have extra red packets though, actually by right, we should give the lion angpaos in exchange. Sorry lion.. And I got 3 Mandarin oranges from the lion. It was a nice lion dance performance, more towards the friendly-greeting lions instead of doing those risky dangerous dance. Most of us received oranges from the lion.
It was quite nervous for a moment because when I wanted to leave the loud drum section, the lion followed me! However, we thought it wanted to take photo. So, I got to selfie with it too! Then, bye lion! 😁
Mesmerising Danglings
After about one hour, the lion dance finished it performance and greetings. We proceeded to take photos at this famous sections of thousands of dangling paper-fold colourful swans. Very Instagrammable. I had admiring other photos and now our turn!
Love all the beautiful hanging light bulbs too.
By the time we reached our area, it was already 6pm, very close to dinner time. So we decided not to head up but ended up at Kari Kepala Ikan Restaurant for our dinner. It was still early and we were not hungry, so we had some tea first and only started ordering food at 7pm. The boys loved their mozzarella cheese naan, I enjoyed my mushroom soup and chicken ginger while husband savoured his satay and warm lemon juice. What a memorable day out! Luckily, I did not dream of lion chasing me, lol!
