Hello everyone. Trust you're doing great.
The previous post I published about two days ago, I mentioned what led to my body breaking down and my plan of visiting the hospital once it was dawn.
So I finally visited the hospital, and after seeing the doctor, was immediately admitted because I was weak and had lost a lot of fluid. My vitals came as a shocker to them - BP was below 85. Pulse rate, not encouraging.
They were surprised by how I was holding on despite that my system was already knocking out. 😂 My specimens were taken and for tests. The result wasn't so good, well, I expected it.
Apart from the ulcer which I suspected, I equally have malaria 2+, Typhoid 2+ and the scariest of them all - bacteria in my stomach. I can't remember the scientific name again. Don't blame me. 😅
So the doctor explained that the bacteria has harbored in there for a long time and it could have been caused by any of these;hmm q
Contaminated foods or water. I'm very intentional with what I eat but you know, one cannot always be too careful, especially if you tend to eat out once in a while.
Certain medications like antibiotics, antacids
Infections e.g., H. pylori (ulcer causing agent) This one suffix and I've abstained from taking my ulcer medication for long so it made an angry come back. Lol
So all the symptoms I had like abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting are just in place.
After his explanation I was taken to the ward and my medication commenced in earnest. I tell you, these past three days haven't been easy.
Constant supervision checking my vitals on a regular..My two hands are bearing canula and I've taken jabs upon jabs including uncountable bags of drips..In fact I've taken nothing less than 20 bags of drips of different kinds for these three days.
After the doctor examined me later in the evening of the first day, he placed me on drip and jabs for 24hrs, I didn't eat nor drink anything.. He said due to the severe stomach upset, my intestines undergone stress and needed to go back to their normal positions. Omoh, na here fear catch me and I had no choice but to endure the compulsory fasting o 😂
In between the 24hrs, I suffered a crisis, my oxygen level was low. and I had to be placed on oxygen twice, 2 hours each. For the 4 hrs I took the oxygen is ₦80,000..It was at this point that I appreciated this free air that I enjoy every day.
24hrs later, after another examination, he then said that I could drink just 15 spoons of watery pap. Ah! ayemi. What is 15 spoons of pap for someone that's been hungry. Sha, I drank it, no the nurse fed me so I won't exceed the number. Imagine the likeness. Lol. Well, I enjoyed the one minute pampering sha. Lol.
After confirming that my system was ready to absorb food, I was then allowed to eat, but it has to be in small portions and not solid foods.
I'm fighting strong to get better and hopefully I'll be out in a couple of days.
This is me on the 3rd day, sitting out just by the balcony to enjoy the morning sun and the view of the hospital's surroubding
Till I write again which I don't know when, take care of you.
Peace.
