The Tata Steel Chess Tournament has ended anticlimactically for many but this last round has had some very interesting games between some of the best grandmasters in chess, as you know Magnus Carlsen after beating Fabiano Caruana in round 12 was going to have a fortait victory in this last round because his rival Daniil Dubov was diagnosed with Covid and was withdrawn from the tournament for protection of the other participants, something that deprives us of a game between two of the key pieces of the world championship (Magnus winning and Dubov advising) let's see what this last round has left us!

Karjakin (2743) vs. Vidit (2732) 1 - 0
In what looks to be a game that will end in a draw Karjakiin shows why he is one of the most relentless players on the board generating several opportunities and pressing on all fronts until he breaks his opponent.
Van Foreest (2702) vs. Shankland (2708) 1 - 0
Praggnanandhaa (2612) vs. Esipenko (2714) 1 -0
Grandelius (2672) vs. Duda (2760) 1/2 - 1/2

It has been a very exciting tournament characterized by the brilliant play of the world champion Magnus Carlsen who has taken the trophy with an advantage of one full point, a barbarity for one of the most hard-fought tournaments in the annual chess circuit, I was delighted to see each of the games and live and I can only thank for the high level that has been deployed. Here is the final table of the tournament courtesy of Chess.com:
And that's it for this edition of the Tata Steel! and also this post ends here I can only recommend that if you have not signed up for the Hivechess there is one every Friday! See you!
