No existe fórmula mágica para ganar en ajedrez. Aún así, te daré 6 consejos de cómo ganar una partida de ajedrez:

El objetivo principal que has de tener en cuenta es hacer jaque mate a tu rival.

El jaque mate se produce cuando el rey está atacado por una pieza rival y no tiene manera de escapar. En este punto, la partida se ha acabado. Aún así, has de tener en cuenta que el jaque mate no se produce sin antes realizar una preparación previa.

1. Haz buenas jugadas de apertura / Make good opening moves

El objetivo de tus primeras jugadas ha de ser tener el control del centro. La parte más importante de un tablero de ajedrez es el centro. Si lo puedes controlar con tus piezas y peones, serás capaz de tener el control sobre la partida. En la siguiente posición, podrás ver como las blancas controlan perfectamente el centro con sus peones mientras que las negras no tienen ningún control.

2. No entregues tus piezas libremente / Do not give your parts away freely

Intercambiar piezas es un proceso normal en ajedrez. Aún así, has de tener en cuenta que estas piezas sean del mismo valor. Muchos jugadores pierden porque entregan sus peones y piezas a cambio de muy poco o incluso nada. Por otro lado, has de intentar capturar todo el material que puedas de tu rival (¡ten cuidado con las trampas!).

Exchanging pieces is a normal process in chess. Still, you have to make sure that these pieces are of the same value. Many players lose because they give up their pawns and pieces for little or nothing. On the other hand, try to capture as much of your opponent's material as you can (beware of cheating!).

3. Coloca tus piezas en buenas casillas / Place your pieces in good squares

Incluso, habrá veces que necesitarás más piezas para romper la defensa rival y conseguir dar jaque mate.

5. Vigila la seguridad de tu rey / Keep an eye on your king's safety

Algunas veces, los jugadores se obsesionan tanto con el rey rival que se olvidan del suyo propio. ¡Recuerda que el otro jugador también querrá atacar a tu rey! Asegúrate de analizar todas las amenazas creadas por las jugadas de tu rival. Una de las mejores maneras de defender tu rey es colocar detrás de los peones. En el siguiente ejemplo puedes ver como el rey blanco está bien colocado y protegido mientras que el rey de las negras puede ser fácilmente atacado.

Sometimes players get so obsessed with their opponent's king that they forget about their own, remember that the other player will also want to attack your king! Be sure to analyze all the threats created by your opponent's moves. One of the best ways to defend your king is to place behind the pawns. In the following example you can see how the white king is well placed and protected while black's king can be easily attacked.

6. Respeta siempre a tu rival / Always respect your opponent

Independientemente de que ganes o pierdas, felicita siempre a tu rival por la partida. Ganar y perder son partes del juego. Incluso los mejores jugadores del mundo pierden muchas veces.

Recuerda siempre ser amable y educado cuando todo acabe y reflexiona acerca de tus errores y de como podrás hacerlo mejor la siguiente vez.
