I hope y'all are doing fine, and well done to everyone who participated today.
I'll start by saying I had a very sh*tty time today. I've always known myself to be someone who takes competitions very seriously however trivial it might be. I've been like that since forever.. but today was remarkably different. My nerves didn't just let me play my best, I don't really know why.. I felt that kind of agitation I normally feel when playing bullet games, perhaps it's because almost everyone berserking their time here and there..
But it's crazy because they should be the one feeling nervous and I more relaxed given I had more time.. but the reverse seemed to be the case. Perhaps, it's the almost instantaneous moves that got me. In all, I had a really bad time and felt really sad, but I guess that's chess for us, you get the good and the bad days.
To the main business of my post:
I decided to cool off by playing some regular games in the hourly superblitz tournament on Lichess and got a really wonderful time.. i finished feeling very happy and proud of myself.
I'm rated around 1500 but won against an 1800, not really surprising but the game rating was what got me so ecstatic..
2100 was the highest I've had prior to this and it was a pretty boring game of exchanges and then king and pawn end game.. but this was different.
I actually blundered mate in 6 moves (the only blunder of the game)
By sacrificing the knight..a sacrifice black shouldn't dare take else it'd be mate in two.. (I don't think I would be able to see that for the next 200 + elos to come :))..
