With an average performance a little higher than my rating I placed 7th in the Strong Saturday Tournament. I won 1 game in my first seven games. Then 4 in a row mostly against lesser or equal ratings and got the bonus points (favorable pairing). was the exception with a higher rating who defeated me easily in our first game.
Recently I have made an effort to improve my clock management. So I spend time and effort working on it. I even practice putting mouse on the table where I can best move it.
My toughest game below:
At the end of ten moves, I had not gained any time advantage but the time was very close. The white Queen and Bishop were attacking my King Pawn on h7. I move p-e4 to force what I believe would be an even exchange.
The exchange of pieces was an even exchange but the White Queen and Bishop remained attacking my King Pawn on h7. I moved p-e5 which I believe to be strong move, however my Bishop & Knight remained on the back row. So my opponent definitely had better position advantage.
In the very next exchange of pieces I gained a Pawn.
(note:) No time pressure or issues, just slightly better time management.
The game ends with a sneaky Checkmate/Resign!
DO YOU SEE IT ???
