For me, it was a weekend of chess. First off all, starting with the Hivechess tournament on Saturday and then on Sunday with the chess960. It was not all fun for me but I am glad to play. The Hivechess tournament on Saturday caught me at a time when I was on my way back home from work and as my bad luck would have it, it was raining as well. I still played while in transit in the rain but my attention was heavily divided. Next up the chess96 tournament was super tough for me as all players were in their A-game.
The tournament did not turn out all rosy for me but I had an interesting game against the win, the International master. It is impressive that international master came back to win the tournament after have a couple of losses to me and another player.
I only got a performance rating of 1839 from winning 3 games and losing 4 games. I tried berserking some games to get fast points and more but that did not turn out all great.
The position seems fairly balanced with the equal number of pieces for both sides but there is a difference. The difference is on the time. I had more time because my opponent berserked me and I did not berserk back. Since it was a 5 minute time control, I had more time and he did not. What I did was to hold of the position for as long as I could and it paid off. Thankfully, I had a rook in the last couple of seconds to flag him.
This is the final position, that got me the win. Pawns, rook which is enough for me to get the win give the time is not in my opponent's favour.

This is the most interesting game I am proud of because of how the endgame turned out for me. Earlier in the game, I sac a piece in exchange for activity and at some point I thought I lost it. After a couple of exchanges, I got a pleasant endgame with two passed pawns to my opponent's knight. This is when it got better for me.
This game was so funny, because we both got into time trouble and blitzing out every move that came into our heads. This brought queens on board but I was the fortunate one to get a queen standing at the end. Making a lot easy for me to get the win. It was another fast play and a win for me on time.

Until the next round of play again.
