Dear chessfriends, SJWs (social justice warriors) and freethinkers,
the racism debate, triggered by a minority and pushed by lefties/democrats and dubious elites, has taken an even more bizarre turn, thanks to Google´s AI (artificial intelligence) algorithms. Or in this case ANSI rather (not so intelligent).
We know how powerful the AIs of Google (the owner of Youtube) are, e.g. in an experimental setting they were able to predict mortality of hospital patients better then physicians (src)!
Recently a video from the Croatian chess player and popular chess Youtuber Antonio Radić, agadmator (>700K subscriptions, not bad for purely chess-related content) was deleted shortly (app. 80min.) after upload. It was a completely innocent interview with the chess top player Hikaru Nakamura.
Radic was told the video "violates community guidelines"! Also his appeal was immediately rejected.
Why?
We can only guess, but most likely because in the video it was mentioned that about a certain opening "If black goes to D6 instead of C6, white will always be better", so the "white will always be better" was apparently considered by the algorithm as "harmful or dangerous content".
By the way, would the AI also be triggered if someone in a chess video would say about another opening "black will always be better"? I have my doubts here.
So what will be the next steps? Will it be forbidden to say "white" and "black" at all? Will in future the Black pieces start?
In case you may not know it, this was already tried out in March 2019 at a quite bizarre anti-racism tournament (#MoveForEquality). Of note, the rule that in chess always the White pieces start was introduced in 1886 to make annotation easier and of course does not symbolize that Whites have it easier in life, as some absurd theories go. So since this rule has nothing to do with races why to protest against it?
Here a screenshot from the official video (link) where chess world champion Magnus Carlsen (on the left side) opens with Black against Anish Giri (ranked #10 currently). Ironic, that the more Withish guy is allowed the first move!
In one of the games this was played:
- d5 Sf3
- Lg4 Se5(!?)
- Lh5
A quite unusual position for chess players
What do you think that Google uses AI algorithms to censor content in an ideology-motivated way?
And what about challenging rules of games, all for a supposedly good reason?
In German there is a say which goes like "good intention is sometimes the opposite of good".

PS: Fortunately the mistake was corrected and the podcast is online again. I hope the algorihtms were adjusted, too. And that agadmator sooner or later switches from Youtube to 3speak!
